Your individually tailored learning programme ensures that you become fluent quickly
Regardless of your starting point, we have a variety of teaching methods that can provide you with an effective way to learn any language. For over 20 years, we have always ensured that we have the most efficient, interesting and user-friendly materials available, combined with friendly, innovative teachers who want you to learn.
The communicative approach
Lessons are conducted in the target language, with explanations in English, if necessary, and grammatical points are introduced, combined with vocabulary. We encourage you to participate actively in developing spoken and aural skills, which will equip you with the fluency and confidence to:
- Present information
- Participate in meetings
- Deal with telephone calls
- Negotiate deals
- Understand differences in culture
How do you learn best?
Your background and psychology are unique; this is why we assess you for existing skills and to identify the approach you may find most effective. For example, you may prefer an analytical approach, with rules and tables, or respond better to hearing usage in practice and subconsciously building your own mental map of the language.
The syllabus is geared to your needs and targets, then materials are selected and activities chosen, so that you gain practice in the essential language skills required.
Sometimes direct is best
The Direct Approach’ centres on teaching you to speak the language; putting it into use at the earliest possible time. We introduce basic, support grammar structures with useful vocabulary from ‘day one’. Through role-play, questions & answers, and language games, you may find yourself speaking with ease.
All tuition will be needs-based, with materials and subject matter reflecting your particular requirements. Progress will be verified continually and course programming will respond to your individual development.
Using experience to promote learning
If you have had greater exposure to language learning and understand the grammatical implications, our teachers will formulate a more scientific/linguistic approach for you. Notions of grammar will be introduced and used to support vocabulary. Again role-play, question & answer sessions, and discussions will be used to motivate and promote new language acquisition.
Finding the perfect fit
In the final analysis, teaching methods take second place to the most important aspect of our methodology – the assessment of your individual needs and abilities, and the formulation of a tailored course that will maximise your learning potential.
