Our work in this area ranges from the translation of contracts and court papers, to terms and conditions of contracts for various industries. In some rare cases, there can be quite complex matters in multiple languages and legal jurisdictions. Every single time, we rely on translators with sound legal knowledge and experience.
A monumental task
Some time ago, Atag Ernest & Young asked us to translate documents supplied by claimants from all over the world, some of whom were Holocaust victims, wishing to pursue their claims relating to the ‘Swiss Dormant Accounts’.
These documents, ranging from birth certificates to management reports, needed to be translated from over 40 different languages to substantiate their claims. Some consisted of handwritten text, including one document that was written in 6 languages; others were written in such archaic styles that specialists had to be employed to bring clarity to the translation.
3 million words and 18 months later, the job was concluded successfully.
